Camel Toe – Part Deux

trench coatOkay, really?  You actually did a search for “camel toe”???

This was going to be a piece on why the human species seems to need religion in order to survive on a day to day basis but frankly, when I checked my stats and saw the number of hits on the above mentioned topic?  The topic took a left turn and ended up on this road.

I’m aware of fetishes and proclivities, deviance and outright perversions but come on…camel toe???  A fashion malfunction? A turn-on?  How do you explain this one?

Large segments of our species have unique triggers or things that get their motors running.  Men and women.  Although, you guys?  Your triggers seem to be a little more out there than do triggers for the gals.

A long time ago, in a world far, far away – I took psychology; my major was going to be abnormal psychology.  That’s what it was called back then, I have no idea what the politically correct term is now, and really?  I could not care any less what it is; it’s not the point.  The topic still fascinates the dickens out of me.

Sexual deviance/fetishes are grouped under the umbrella term of paraphilia.  Then there are sets, sub-sets and sub-sets of sub-sets.  Real research into paraphilia is relatively new.  Oh the fields had been around but real research hadn’t been attempted from our more modern perspectives and methodologies.  Homosexuality was removed from the list of psychiatric illnesses not that many years ago.  So, we haven’t “come such a long way, baby” with regard to understanding the incredibly complex world of human sexuality.

Sexual arousal triggers are believed to begin early and with the advent of puberty hitting at younger and younger ages; we’re talking the creation of sexual triggers when kids are 8, 7 and even 6 years old.  For many of us, the triggers are simple and easily understood because they are hard wired in our brains so that we might, successfully perpetuate the species, we refine those triggers, of course but they are, essentially, the same:  a superior and healthy appearance with no visible defects that may be passed on to offspring. Sounds horribly cold but that’s the truth of it.  Perpetuating the species is, to coin a phrase, our “prime directive.”

If current theories regarding fetishes and other particular arousal triggers are to be considered as valid, then this has to extend to pedophilia.  Do we believe that people are born to be pedophiles or has their sexual hard wiring been short circuited in their early lives?  Even the experts can’t give us a definitive answer.

It is believed that pedophilia is the result of a matrix of sexual arousals based on, possible, sexual abuse as a child.  It is very difficult to, first – not want to beat the pedophile into a bloodied heap and second to attempt to understand the condition, to look at it and the perpetrators. Few of us are able to “wrap” our heads around or even acknowledge that someone can possibly get off by sexualizing children.

What about necrophilia?  How could the sexual hard wiring of a child be diverted to create this kind of a deviance?  This is where the theory of early childhood triggers gets a little flakey around the edges.

One theory being put forward is that the creation of deviant sexual arousal begins in the womb, due to an overexposure to estrogen and that deviant behaviour is more prevalent in males with older siblings.  Hey, I’m just repeating a current theory, doesn’t mean I think it holds any water.

Our triggers seem to be as diverse as are we.  What is right for Peter, maybe be disgusting to Paul.  What turns Julie on, may send Kathy running for the nearest exit and a long, hot shower.

What is within the realm of acceptable sexual proclivities and what is not?  It seems there is no global answer; it is something to be decided by the individual and in the case of proclivities that constitute an affront to current societal norms – decided by a court of law.

So if camel toe is what turns your crank?  Cool, have a time.  It just isn’t something that I would ever find appealing, in fact, I find it rather gross and a rather glaring reflection of the woman allowing this to occur.  Have a little dignity, girl – obviously your drawers are too tight.

  1. ROFL, in all fairness a small percentage of them will be people wondering what it means, looking it up, but yeah. For everything I find disgusting I can pretty much guarantee somebody is turned on by it.

  2. It’s not sexy. It’s just badly fitting garments. Your clothes don’t fit right.

For everything that each of us finds normal and natural there is a culture out there that holds the exact opposite as normal and natural and if you withhold that activity the person will be psychologically damaged. I have to agree this stuff is fascinating.

    • Unfortunately, some of the things considered normal by cultures and of course, sub-cultures are damaging to others. It is a universe unto itself. Where is the line drawn? What constitutes acceptable, even when behind closed doors and what should never be acceptable? Personally, I find the concept of scat and blood play, urophilia completely disgusting but if someone else is into that, a fully informed, willing and adult participant? Great – just take a full shower with antibacterial soap before visiting us. Necrophilia, pedophilia, bestiality or any other form of sexual activity where one or more of the participants are not capable of giving informed consent? Go to jail, go directly to jail and while you’re in there? Mandatory therapy or you take up permanent residency.
